The Log Farm
Take a step back in time at The Log Farm, a replica of a mid-1800s family farm in Ottawa. Just a short drive from our hotel, this 110-acre historical experience is set right on the edge of the city. Tour the old farmhouse and working farm. Enjoy taffy on the snow, Beavertails, wagon rides and a bonfire to warm your toes! Come syrup season, grab a pail to collect sap in the bush and see how it’s made into fresh syrup over a wood fire.
Fulton's Pancake House & Sugar Bush
Fulton's Pancake House & Sugar Bush is another local winter family favourite. Starting in mid-February, come for the brisk nature trail walks, toboggan hill and sleigh rides. Meet the farm animals and learn about maple syrup production on this authentic family-run farm. Then, sweeten the deal with a pancake breakfast and a trip to the Maple Gift Shoppe!
Gatineau Park and the Greenbelt
After breakfast, grab cross-country skis and explore the trails around Ottawa Nepean. There are hundreds of kilometers of snowy trails at Gatineau Park and the Greenbelt, with varying degrees of challenge for the most novice to the most advanced cross-country skier. We recommend Shirley’s Bay conservation area, just a short drive from our Ottawa West Nepean hotel.

If downhill skiing is more your style, look no further than Calabogie Peaks Mountain.
